Anthony Anderson studied at the University of Sydney
and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law. He
established a career as a film lawyer in private practice and
subsequently worked in-house in business affairs at Columbia Tri-Star
and Shanahan Management.
Anthony established Red Carpet Productions in 1996 to develop
independent films. He produced the short dramas Pentuphouse (1998)
and Flowergirl (1999) with Cate Shortland, and executive produced
Joy (2000). He was also associate producer on Strap On Olympia
(1995) and The Visitor (2001).
Red Carpet Productions has several feature film
projects at various stages of development. Somersault (2004) is
its first feature film. This has won numerous awards both in Australia
and internationally, and produced an award winning soundtrack
album.

Anthony is a founding member of IPI and also is a member of SPAA.
In 2004 Anthony was awarded the SPAA Independent Producer Award,
Film Critics Circle of Australia award as well as the AFI Award
and IF Award for Best Feature. In 2005 Anthony was awarded the
AFC Fellowship to research first hand the New York independent
film industry.
Anthony currently develops telemovies and feature film projects
in the USA and Australia.
In 2006 Anthony co-produced THE
SILENCE , an ABC television mini-series directed by Cate Shortland
and produced by Jan Chapman. This drama premiered as a film at
the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival.
